●GoogleがついにFirefox開発者の求人を開始
GoogleがFirefoxに関心を持っていることは明らかだったが、先週末にはついにFirefox開発者の求人をGoogleの求人ページにて開始した。Mozilla Foundationの開発者を雇うとか、そういうことはしてきたが、ここまで明白な行動に出たことは今更隠すまでもないということなのか。

求人の内容としてはこんな事が書いてある。
Google is looking for software engineers to join us in our collaborative development efforts with the Mozilla Foundation on the Firefox browser.Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Several years of software development experience in C or C++.
Experience developing cross platform client products.
Ability to quickly and efficiently learn the intricacies of a large scale code base.
Ability to work effectively in a distributed, collaborative environment.
Ability to take initiative and think creatively.
Previous experience contributing to open source software projects a plus.
つまりGoogleがこれまでも行ってきたMozilla FoundationとのFirefox共同開発に参加してくれる人を募集していると言うことだ。
GoogleはこれまでにFirefoxのLead EngineerであるBen Goodger氏や同じくLead EngineerのDarin Fisher氏を雇ったことで話題になっている。

FirefoxのスタートページはGoogleをカスタマイズしたものになっているし、Firefox版Google ToolbarにはIE版にはない機能も追加されたりしている。う～ん、Firefoxはどうなっていくんだろう、楽しみ！
